Venue Info

The Oriental Theater

The Oriental Theater serves as an anchor of the bustling Tennyson Art and Business District and serves the broad interests of Denver’s burgeoning cultural scene.

In addition to a full offering of music, comedy, film and other live performances, the theater is available for private parties, lectures, corporate meetings, non-profit fundraisers, and other special events.

Enjoy events, shows, and performances: by local- to internationally recognized artists, any night, all year; produced by the Oriental, by local, regional and national promotional teams, and by frends like you.

Experience the show from the multi-leveled chair and table seating, the giant dance floor, or up in our 200+ seating balcony. Notice the subtle nuances in sound quality, reflecting the Theater’s birth in a time before mechanical sound amplification. The view from anywhere in the house is never obstructed!

Watch shows on the big screen – the giant 30′ × 20′ (that’s 600 square feet!) projection screen (it can play any DVD— screen your film project on the bigscreen!!!)

Please join us at the Oriental Theater, at 44th and Tennyson in Denver. Bring your friends and enjoy!

Frequently Asked Questions:

When is your box office open? It is always open during shows/events. It is generally open Tuesday through Saturday from 12PM until 11PM (we recommend you call before coming by to make sure we are definitely here- 720-420-0030). You can usually buy tickets for upcoming events at our box office for no service fee if you pay cash-although there are certain events hosted by outside promoters that must be purchased online- please call 720-420-0030 or email info@theorientaltheater.com to check on whether we are selling the tickets at the box office.

Where do I park? The Oriental Theater does not have a designated parking lot. However, you can park in the "Red Door" antique shop parking lot after 6PM (across the street from the theater). There is also plenty of on-street parking available -especially on the North and South side of 44th Avenue (to the East Stuart Street). The parking is much more accessible than any other music venue in the Denver metro area.

What are the Production Specs (Sound & Lights)? Please email info@theorientaltheater for detailed information of our sound and light specs.

Is there a dress code? Never (unless it's a private event). But please wear something...

Is there Public Transportation available? RTD 44 stops right in front of the theater CLICK HERE for the schedule

Can I get a taxi/cab easily from the Oriental Theater? Yes- however if there are 600 people here on Saturday night and you ask us to call you a taxi at 2AM -you are going to wait. Plan ahead, and have us call you one about 20 minutes before you are ready to leave!

Why doesn't the Oriental Theater get more nationally touring music acts? We get our fair share, but Denver is one of the most competitive markets in the country and we are an independent venue competing against companies that literally have owners that are billionaires (this is not an exaggeration-do some research). The national acts that we do get understand our passion about live music and are truly "trying to help the little guy succeed". Don't be close-minded about coming to a local show- The Denver music scene is one of the best in country and you will be pleasantly surprised by some of the local talent this town has to offer for a fraction of the price.

Do you have an ATM? We sure do!

Do you have a full bar?  Yes! (If our employees haven't drank us dry) -We have a decent selection of all liquors and beers- but don't expect a wide selection of high-end single malt scotches...

Are you hiring? We don't hire too often, but please feel free to send your resume to info@theorientaltheater.com (sober people given extra consideration!)
