
Trent Nelson (Rockford, IL) and Matt Hoffman (Denver) met in April of 2009 in Denver, CO and began their collaboration as songwriters. Bringing an eclectic and unique set of influences to the table, the duo quickly racked up a number of songs ranging in sound from folk to country to classic and indie rock. Later in 2009, guitarist/keyboardist/vocalist Murry Mercier (Baltimore, MD) was brought on having worked with Nelson on previous projects. Drummer Scott Gunshore (Phoenix, AZ) and bassist/multi-instrumentalist Ryan Honaker (San Francisco, CA) joined the group in the fall of 2009, completing what is now Strange Americans. The band members’ individual origins represent most parts of the country and amount to vast and varied musical experiences. Plus, they are all just a little off…
